Welcome!
Welcome the 2015 PCM World Cup! We are the PCM Portugal community, and we’re first timers organizing this event. We’re very honored to organize it, and hopefully you’ll all enjoy it. In this section, you’ll find all the threads that have all the necessary generic information about the World Cup. This information should be read (and re-read) by all players. The structure of the event will be split into three parts – Sign ups, Solo Events, and finally, team events. To know more about each of the sections, check each main thread in this very section of the forum. After reading each thread, make sure to follow the general announcement thread to know about every news about the World Cup. The thread will be blocked to post, to make sure it’s more organized, and easy to understand to the players. But don’t worry! There will be a thread where you can place your suggestions and opinions regarding the event. We want that every player enjoys the experience of the World Cup. For that, we count with your participation. Up until the 23:59 of the 24 of April, you’ll have time to sign up for the World Cup, in both the Solo and Team events.
General Information Calendar There’s events every day during the World Cup period (from 27 of April up until 4 of May). A total of 7 events will be played: Road, Keirin, Elimination, Points Race, Scratch, 200m TT, Omnium, and Individual Sprint. The World Cup lasts approximately 6 weeks. The duration of the Solo World Cup doesn’t match the duration of team events. The Solo World Cup is played first. If the number of signups for a certain event isn’t enough, we will skip the necessary rounds to accommodate the number of signups, but the calendar won’t be changed because of that. If the calendar needs to be altered though, it will be announced in the announcements thread. For more information, please check the calendar thread..
Downloads The database that will be used is, obviously, different from the original database. We advise the players to download the database that will be used, both for the solo events, and team events, to check which team they’ll use.You can do that in the download thread..
Hall of Fame Don't you remember the great, old champions of PCM? Want to know who's wheel to follow?Check our hall of fame thread.
Questions/Chat topic You couldn’t quite get something we’ve written? Then ask us in the questions thread. This thread will also be used as a “chat”.Visit the thread here.
Announcements This will be one of the most important threads of this event. It will be here where the organizers will place every important announcement, including changes to the competition.
Livestream In this thread you'll find the link for the official channel of this event. You'll be able to see tons of events live, but overall, you'll have access to one of the great inovations and news from this World Cup.
Registration
The registration, both for the solo events and the team events, open up at the same time, opening in the 13 of April, and closing in the 24 of April, at 23.59.
Solo World Cup In this section, there will be a separate thread for each event that will be played. The threads will have the important information for each event. You’ll be able to see the raffle for each event, points system, and other things.. This threads will be updated when the signups are closed. When an event is played, we’ll update the threads with each round results. In the end, a global classification will be calculated with all the results of each player in all the events, and the Global PCM Champion will be crowned.
Seconds Chances You can’t play? No problem. There will be a second chance in all events for the players that didn’t qualify directly for the next round. The dates of the second chances are already included in the calendar. More detailed information will be posted later, in the respective thread for each event.
Team World Cup Just as the name says, the team world cup is a team event. The teams will be made out of at least 4 players, with a maximum of 6 players per team. At least 3 of the team’s elements will have to play in the events (this applies to both the road and track events). If you haven’t find a team yet, please seek the “team search” topic. Inside this section, you’ll be able to try and find team-mate to play with. After each event is done, we’ll update it as quickly as possible with the full results. Just like in the Solo WC, there’s a global classification, where we’ll find the strongest team in the community of PCM. The points system for the general classification will also be posted in this section.
Finally, we wish all of the players a great World Cup! May the “cycling” begin!
