Stage semi-converted from PCM 2011. Col de Cloze is Luz Ardiden's impraticable continuous, the route of this stage and its realization is a long story with Cym_ITA. Col de Cloze   The final  Col de Cloze is a climb known only by sheeps and the pastor that move then to pasture above it.  The sheeps decided: a pipsqueak as Scheck can't win in your climb.  1° Stage: Gent - Gent (ITT) 6.5 km  Many will criticize the choice of starting again from northern Europe sacrificing the south of Italy, but is right dedicate this Giro d'Italia, or at least these first stages, at WW starting from his city and his country. This Giro d'Italia, that promises to be one of the hardest ever, opens with a prologue among the streets that gave birth to WW. Among the leaders there won't be big gaps, but someone could lose precious seconds from their opponents and we don't forget that will be assigned the first pink jersey. |

Thanks Andrepg. Looks amazing. I really love your Criterium Dauphine. And like your Giro too, but wouldn't be possible to make more stages around L'Aquila ? |

Obrigado! But if you speak english in this topic you do me a big favor becouse I don't understand portuguese.  It was impossibile do more stage around l'Aquila due to the departure from Belgium, at Giro d'Italia is always so, when the departure is in Europe the south Italy have to be sacrificed  2° Stage: Gent - Genk (plain) 212 km  The Giro re-starts from Gent to Genk for a stage dedicated to sprinters who certainly won't be preoccupied by the sole GPM expected today, little more than a overbridge, but valid for the assignment of first best climber's jersey. |
